A movement of mobilized churches and agencies, captivated by the mission of God, fulfilling their unique role in proclaiming Christ to all creation.
The Origin
In 2004, Matthew Ellison was a missions pastor at a megachurch, and they had just made a massive shift from merely reacting to missions funding requests to proactively engaging our whole church in the mission of God. Matthew and his friend Vic would regularly meet for lunch to process missions.
Matthew began sharing with Vic that more and more churches were reaching out, wanting to actively engage their congregations in missions. Vic recognized parallels between his business plan and the need to help churches become more strategic and connect with partners who will do missions with them, not for them. Over some naan and Chicken Makhini and some scribbles, the structure for 1615 Outfitters was born.
Since 2004, we’ve coached churches in 46 of the 50 states and provided resources for hundreds of churches across the globe. Over 75 missions agencies have been trained to better engage with local churches and love the bride of Christ. Dozens of unreached people groups are being engaged by churches who have found their unique role to make Christ known among all nations. All from some lunch scribbles and a Creative God.

Statement of faith
We believe . . . that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.
We believe . . . in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and that these three are co-equal and co-eternal.
We believe . . . in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return.
We believe . . . that man was created by and for God; that by man's disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.
We believe . . . the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and that salvation comes through faith alone, in Christ alone; all who believe in Him are declared righteous and are, therefore, in the right relationship with God.
We believe . . . in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers and thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer.
